The Reiki
Regulatory Working Group

T
he Reiki Regulatory Working Group (RRWG) was set up by representatives of a number of Reiki organisations in collaboration with the Prince of Wales’s Foundation for Integrated Health. The RRWG provides a forum for the exchange of views, concerns, standards and best practice with the intention of ‘speaking with one voice’ in working towards Voluntary Self Regulation of Reiki and creation of the single UK Register of Professional Reiki Practitioners.

The group is made up mainly of practitioner representatives, but with up to 5 lay people with specific skills and expertise. Representatives of Reiki organisations with a minimum of 100 members are invited to participate directly – it was felt that smaller organisations could be represented under the umbrella of the larger bodies, but this remains under review.

W
We invite other Reiki organisations or individual Reiki Practitioners and Teachers to make contact with the RRWG on info@reikiregulation.org.uk, if you have any queries. Please bookmark and check this site regularly if you wish to be kept up to date with the VSR process.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

  • To work towards Voluntary Self-Regulation (VSR).
  • To develop a unity of standards between all Reiki groups, allowing for variation in styles.
  • To arrive at a consensual definition as to what Reiki is.
  • Prepare a safe code of professional practice of Reiki, including disciplinary and complaints procedures.
  • Development of Minimum Standards.
  • Setting up of a national register of Reiki Practitioners and Teachers.
The website www.reikiregulation.org.uk is a key aspect of our intent to ensure that the process is as transparent as possible, to practitioners, policymakers and the public. The minutes of our meetings, draft documents, and relevant news and links will be posted here on a regular basis.
